Week 2

Building Confidence

Days 8-14 Recovery Milestone

You've completed your first week!

Two weeks down! Your body is continuing to heal, and you're likely feeling slightly more like yourself. Baby blues should be starting to improve, and you may notice your energy stabilizing (even if it's still low).

🎯

Week 2 Focus: Gentle Progression

What's Changing This Week

Physical:

  • Incision is less tender; lochia becomes lighter in color and flow
  • You can walk 5-10 minutes, twice daily
  • Begin gentle Kegel exercises (5-10 reps, 3-4x daily)
  • Nursing becomes more comfortable
  • Energy levels remain low but may stabilize

Emotional:

  • Baby blues should start improving—if not, reach out to your provider
  • Develop confidence in baby care routines
  • Feel more emotionally stable day-to-day
  • Process sleep deprivation effects on mood
  • Practice self-compassion during difficult moments

Your Baby:

Baby should regain birth weight by 2 weeks and is more alert during 30-45 minute wake windows. Feeding patterns become slightly more predictable.

New This Week:

Add gentle stretching for arms, neck, and legs. Continue simple feeding/sleep tracking. Take daily 15-minute showers without rushing.

📊

Continue Daily Blood Pressure Monitoring

You're still in the critical window (days 3-10 are highest risk). Keep logging your BP and watch for severe headache, vision changes, or upper belly pain.

Contact your provider if BP ≥140/90 | Go to ER if BP ≥160/110
